Why are my computers dying?

im a real estate agent, i also have another online business and use my laptop alot, should i just get the hard drive replaced? i was also thinking of switching to a powerbook?any advice would be so appreciated- i need a computer that can keep up with me.also i was thinking of buying refurbished. it seems that before i get these things out the box theyre old. pls help!

my advice is to make an image backup of ur system when its new or working correctly with somthing like nortons ghost or acronis true image then keep all pertinant data backed up to a usb harddrive in between …
The problem you are having is that your computers are filled with viruses, spyware and adware.
You need to have some kind of program to scan for and remove these infections. Plus you need to make sure you are updating windows frequently.
Got to and download AVG antivirus and keep it updated and scan often.
Do the same for Adaware:
and Spybot S&D:
These are issues that have been around for years.
I have owned 7 PC laptops in my life, and they all drive me crazy because over time they slow down. the reason for this, is that they store every file, every keystroke, every mouse click on the hard drive, which takes up space.
I recently bought an iBook, I love it, I’ve owned it for 2 months, and it hasn’t slowed down, even though I have it loaded with programs.
If you want a used computer, go on eBay, you can sell your old one and buy a new one. (thats where all my computers come from) you can buy a desktop that 4 years ago was worth $900 for $100.

Sounds like you might have picked up some gremlins such as a computer virus or adware. If you haven’t done a complete install of Windows since you got the laptops it might be time to get what you need off of them and do a recovery.
I have found that trying to get rid of viruses and adware is a pain and may or may not work. I don’t even bother if it takes more than an hour of my time. Within an hour you could have your machines up and running again.
If you back up your data regularly you can reformat and reinstall windows without too much trouble. Especially since most laptop offer recovery tools to do this.
I suggest you go to There is a search bar at the top. Type in :
AVG FREE anti-virus download it then update it.. Then look for SPY BOT Search and Destroy..download it and update it.. After you update Spy Bot , click on “Immunize” on the main Spy Bot page.. let it run ..A window may pop up telling you, so many things have been blocked and there are so many that can be blocked… if it does , then click immunize at the top. This loads the definitions. Click block pages silently also.. Look for and download , Zone Alarm free fire wall also..You need one of these too. Then go to lavasoft.com and look for AD-Aware SE personal edition..Download it and then update it… These programs are all free..Then run all three programs. The Firewall runs itself.. You will need to run all three programs at least once a week..The AVG protects constantly. And can be set up to automatically update, and scan for problems. But you will have to open and check for updates and run the programs manually for the other 2.. I also recommend Abexo registry cleaner ( also available at download.com) but be careful when you delete registry files it may be something you want to keep look at each one before you delete them.
