What is the official website for first time home buyers government grants?
June 10th, 2010 by admin
I do real estate in New York and I found the website in the year 2005. On that site it stated the first time home buyers can get up to $7,000.00 yet I can’t seem to locate it. When I do a search there’s various sites.
I just want the OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
Thanks

The Housing and Urban Development in their Grants Available page makes it clear that they do NOT provide
grants to individuals — hence no grants for a person to buy a home
————————————-
“While HUD does not offer direct grants or loans to individuals, we do work through local governments and non-profit organizations to make financial assistance and counseling available.”

Nehemiah Corp is a non profit organization, not government, though they have a downpayment assistance program for qualified lenders
There’s also nothing in the OFFICIAL government grants website Grants.gov or in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) – these are two FREE sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants.
You can check HUD’s Local Homebuying Program for your state of New York
Check the HUD NY homeownership page to see if there’s anything pertaining to this supposed grant assistance for first time homebuyers
money dried up
are you talking about the Nehemiah grants?
