Im thinking of a career move, Ive sold cars for a while but I want to move on to bigger and better things. What does it take to become a real estate agent and how and where do I go to get a license and training. I live in california and the housing market here has slowed down so do you think its a good idea?

There isn’t much schooling, but I heard that the test for California is hard. I was thinking of going into it because I could get my license in less than a year, but like you said, the housing market has slowed down…
Not much school, you have to take three courses. It’s like 3 months if you just go on weekends, testing at the end of the courses. Then the CA test.
It is the hardest of all the states. Once you have your CA license it is very simple to go to other states.
It is a slow market but there’s always buying and selling taking place. People still get divorced, have kids, die.
Be advised that it is expensive to be a Realtor. You have to pay a lot of fees to the state, the board, the MLS, the broker you work under, not to mention all of the advertising costs.
