To rent a house for more money or stay in the apartment we are in now and spend some money to make it nicer?

It all depends on what you want. If you are happy where you are, then just make the changes and see if the landlord will pay for some of it, since it is their property. Moving has it’s costs and you may not be able to find a place for the same price. You have to do the research yourself and see what is out there. Either way you are renting so the only difference is whether you can find a place that you like better, is closer to work, costs less, etc. The advantage of the house is that you can have a yard and pets and you share fewer walls. Are those things you want? Is it worth the extra money? Or is you rent super cheap and your place is in a good area?

I think it would be best to invest in buying a house.
If you think about it, you’re not really saving yourself any money by living in an apartment or a rental house.
You’re spending all that money every month and what do you get out of it? You’ll NEVER be able to OWN your apartment, so why waste the time paying to live in it?
I would either get a rent to own home or buy a house.
If you buy a house then you can easily get a mortgage for it and pay the mortgage on it every month.
Then you can decorate it however you want, or even knock a whole wall down! lol
My suggestion – buy a house and mortgage it, then pay the mortgage each month.
Depending on the price of the home and your monthly income, it could take between 5-13 years to pay off a house. And you’ll get to keep it when you’re done!! (unlike an apartment which you will NEVER be able to own)
