Yes it certainly is and I have been doing it for years. You are entitled to housing benefit if you work below 24 hours (or it may be 16) a week. It is based on your outgoings against your income to access what you need to live on. If you are self employed you can submit your annual accounts and it is based on your profit/loss. You also have to have less than £3,000 in savings.

Yes, it is possible. I used to work part-time and got some housing benefit. Housing benefit is worked out on your income and if it is deemed low enough you will get assistance.
it is legal to claim both housing benefit and council tax benefit if you work part-time, in fact if you are on a very low wage it may be possible to claim if you work full-time. However, generally speaking, you have to work less than 16 hours per week.
Yes it is possiable to claim both Housing and Council Tax benefit if you are working in a low paid job. The amount you receive will depending on your earnings (there is no limit of hours as suggested elsewgere that only appies to Income Support). The council will calculate your maxium enttiltement to benefit which depends on your personal circumstances i.e your age, number of children and any disabilities. After this they wil substract your income (less a disregard) and calcualte your benefit entitlement, If you live alone you will automatically qualify for Council Tax reduction of 25%. If you are over 25 years old and work over 30 hours per week you may also be eligiable for Tax Credits if you are on a low wage (less than 11500 pa). Go to your local advice centre ie Citzens advice, money advice or social work office and tey will be able to calacualte your entitlements based on your individual circumstances.
