In Southern California … a three bedroom house in a decent neighborhood (San Fernando Valley, Orange Co, San Diego) will run you upwards of $2500/month. That is if you could even get someone to rent you one for just three months.
which city in california are u plannin to visit? how many people? u can go through this site and select whichever city u have in mind…like for example, if its San Fransisco Bay, click SF Bay and select whatever u wish under HOUSING…this site shud give u an approx idea about the housin and pricing. hope this msg makes sense to u goodluck…
3 bed/2 bath house ~$2500/month
1 bed/1 bath apartment ~$1100/month
A room in a house ~$700/month
Prices can vary, though what I’ve listed above are typical rents for units in decent, but not high-end, neighborhoods around town (the Valley, Hollywood, Silverlake, etc). If you decide to live in the hills or on the Westside, it will cost you more.
It is completely dependant on where you are going. Anything along the coast is going to be expensive. If you go inland it can cost very little. What are you doing in Ca. and where are you going to be located? Craigs list is a start. And you can check on-line local listings in the area you are going to visit. If it’s a job you’re coming for, ask employers/co-workers.

Depending on what city it can be from $800 to $3000. Start early because availability and for just a short time period may be hard.
