Help needed with my housing benefit claim?
I put a claim through for housing benifit about 2 months ago now.. I sent all the forms back and they wrote to me in about 2 weeks saying they need a copy of a tenancy agreement.. that was fine i phoned the landlord and he said he would send me one.. two weeks later and still didnt have one.. he said he sent one, but he sends another one anyway..Another two weeks later no i havent got it…..and i finally recieve one after talking to his wife a few days later who sent it and it got to me the next day ( thats men for you really)..
Ok we have a small problem because the housing benifit people didnt hear from me within a month so they cancled my claim and thought i didnt need it anymore, Phoned them and they said i would have to make a repeat claim and i could send my tenany agreement with it and everything would be peachy.. This was three weeks ago and i still havent heard anything from anyone.. I have been trying to phone them all morning but all i get is an annoying recorded message saying im in a que my wating time is about a min.. ok 10 mins later i havent talked to anyone whatsoever and the music is making me want to hurt someone..Ill try later on they said the less busy hours were between 2 and 5pm..
I am due to give birth in like a month and its really stressing me out and i dont know what to do and barley know who to call..
When the baby is born i won’t have anywherer to live if this isnt sorted out beforehand. I have to leave where i am ( long boring story).. I also have a two year old son which doesnt help alot. The midwife said i need to relax more because my blood pressure is too high, i am trying but i think the reason why its high is mostly due to all the stress about the problems i am having with the housing people
Can anyone tell me what to do!? Is there something i can do to kick a few people up the bum to make them move faster!? I usually have loads of help from the benifit people and i mostly always hear from them within a week or so i dont know whats taking so long with this.
Thanks xx

Your midwife is right, stop stressing out, it’s bad for the baby.
Call them back up and stay on hold for 10 minutes or longer.
I am sure they can experdite your application if you explain your situation to them.
Good Luck.
It might be a little inconvenient but sometimes when I’m getting the run around and I know where the office is, I pay them a nice little visit. You have an advantage of being pregnant with potentially no where to go.
Showing up in front of someone with your plight, big as a house and two year old in tow could be the catalyst to get things moving in your favor. I’d hate to be the one to blame if you approached me, so I would do all I could to find your paperwork, give you a status and some answers.
And, yes stress would not be a good thing for your baby if you’ve already been made aware you have high blood pressure. Keep calm for the sake of your baby to be and the one watching your example!
Take care
