There are expanded tax break available for 2009 first-time homebuyers ,,id=204672,00.html but no grants for first time home buyers.

Check with your mortgage agent the available loan programs for your situation

there is the 8000 tax credit for first time buyers (if you haven’t owned a home in 3 years).

    FHA has 3.5% down loans.

Your state may also have bond money for mortgages.

YOu can also do RD gvpt loans with 0% down.

some states have grant money available for first timers. Check with your broker. Also the others are right you can get 100% loans only through Rural Development and the VA

Found a decent site as far as government grants for home buyers are concerned. the second and the third grant offers are the most relevant for home buyers so check those out. hope this helps, alex.
