even though they only work less then 16 hours a week, and haven’t actually had the claim go through completely? so no money was given? but now they want to claim for housing benefit again and tell them the truth about the work. they only lied at the beginning as there was a risk of being homeless with very little money. i must stress this is not me..
I just want to know if they can get into trouble for lying even though they received no money.
Just to repeat, this person never recieved any money at all from the council. so wouldnt have to pay anything back.

Yes can get into trouble also if they owe the councill any money will have it all to pay back But if like you say the claim as not gone throught cant see any problem can still claim a bit of rebate on housing and councill tax if only working 16 hours a week
