Can I work with more than 1 real estate agent ?
I am searching for homes and l know all the data comes from 1 source MLS. And all the companies out there remax,century21,zillow all pull the data from the same database and show it to customers on there website.
Now when I am looking at a property in each of these company website they present it in a different way(with more info).
My question is can I work with more than 1 real estate agent. As sometimes 1 real estate agent might be slow in responding compared to others. Right now I am having 3-4 real estate agents showing me properties.
Do I need to tell all of them that I am working with other agents also ?
Is it ok to work with more than 1 real estate agent ?
I haven’t personally signed with any agent.
All they do is take my email id and send me the listings to my email.
The problem with these agents is the flexibility. Looks like I have to look for someone who is fast to show me homes and help me out.
How will agent “B” know that I brought a home from agent “A” ? Its ultimately the agent who showed me the home first which I like ? isn’t it ?
How will I know how the agent is unless I work with them for few days ?

That could be very problematic because when you do find a home, each may have a legitimate claim to charge you 3% commission on the house you buy. With 4 agents, that will add up to a lot of money you may owe.
Yes, you need to read the agreement you have with the agents and tell them you have other agents.
Usually they want you to sgn an agreement. As buying agent it’s much more felxible though.
The big secret is, no agent will ever sue you, they can;t afford the negative publicity or hassle.
But Agent A,B, and C, will never work with you again if you buy from agent from Agent D.
Wow… you need to choose one agent quickly. They can charge you commission and they fight like a bunch of girls over clients. I am assistant to an agent and it can get ugly. All of their income comes from clients. Find an agent you click with and fits YOUR needs. They will find everything they can to make you happy.
You can work with fifty agents if you want too. If you sign anything you are committed to work only with that person.
When we were looking for property we called several agency from ads that we saw in person or on the internet. It was the process of elimination between who really understood what we were looking for and the ones that were hoping that we would say yes.
The person that we bought the house from did his homework. He would physically go out to the property and call us with the details. If we ask did it have trees in the backyard, he could tell us on the phone then yes or no. It saved us many hours driving to meet him and finding out it was not what we wanted at all.
One real estate agent was very nice, but she missed the boat every time. She did not have a clue of what we wanted, and she was just hoping that we would change our minds so she could get the commission.
if you have signed with any agent you must use them. If not you are still free but I would pick one and stick with them
You need to choose 1 agent and they will represent you as a BUYING AGENT. They will find properties for you that suit your needs even though it is listed through a different listing agent.
You need to get a preapproval first, which will give you more power when making an offer. Plus the agent will more likely help you once they know what you can afford.
Keep in mind, if you find a house, alot more goes into buying than just a walkthru and say you want it. The mortgage loan process which involves income, credit score, debt to income ratio, downpayment, home inspection, appraisal, survey, title search etc.
Good Luck in your search and definetly deal with one agent that will respresent you as a BUYING AGENT
