Am 18, not pregnant and still studying full time education , Can i claim housing benefit?

housing benefit claim
I have a bad relationship with my parents and I feel that am very depress living with them and need freedom. My parents are on benefit at the moment. Will that help me to claim housing benefit? Or that has nothing to do with my claiming. Also as now am 18, Am I entitle to any other benefits? Also i already have EMA paid full amount. Thank you

im guessing you want to move out?
your claiming will be based purely on your earnings within your own household. so youd get full housing benefit.
    buuut. ema=£30 a week?
you could get jobseekers i believe which is about £70 a week for a single childless person.
could you live on £100 a week? including water, sewage, tv license, electric, gas, internet, and food?
i know i couldnt. have a rethink, stay at your parents, stay out of their way and cope until you have your qualifications and a decent job that can actually sustain you, rather then bum off tax payers.
not many people get on with their parents at that age, i know i didnt.

yeah you can claim them at you local council, BUT you’re not allowed to own more than 16 000£ otherwise you don’t qualify, and yeah as said you’re only going to get 100£ which isn’t alot i reckon.

You need to speak to your local council about any benefit help.
You also need to put your name on the Housing waiting list. If you find private accommodation there is no guarantee you will receive full benefit to pay the rent.
For a council tenancy you will tell them your suffering depression living with your parents and any other medical conditions that are affected by living with our parents. Benefit awarded to you has nothing to do with your parents. You may get help with council tax payment, but there is no guarantee.
Now–consider the other payments Tv needs a licence. No TV then your lap top/computer needs a TV licence. Gas, Electricity and water all need paying.

You have to get a house first before you can claim any benefits

So maybe think how you can furnish a home, pay all the bills, and feed yourself ,unless you have an income of some sort.

Maybe go on the housing list first and see what the council offer you

Full time students aren’t actually entitled to benefits unless it’s in cases where you can no longer live with your parents because you have children or your parents are kicking you out. You may be entitled to housing benefit but it will only be enough to cover a shared house or bedsit but how will you pay for food or other expenses? You won’t be entitled to jobseekers as your not looking for full time work. So you’ll have nothing to live on but EMA.
